Ndp training was true, a test of endurance. I had to endure all sorts of elements like physical exhaustion, heat. I learnt that all in all, the most important is, your mental strength. Its dosent matter how hot it gets, how tiring it is, its all in the mind.
Whenever i felt like giving up during mark time, i would think stuff like "My friends are tired too.. a lil while more.." and kept going. Whenever the strain of muscles come in during fue de jua,
"think pain as gaining and dont put the rifle down. others are doing it too" i held that damn rifle, 60 degrees maintained. up high.
and you know what keeps me going all the time? I vision in my mind, when the day comes, all my friends and family are watching, be it through the glass of the television or being there at marina bay. The Trainer Commanders kept saying about this feeling that im going to experience when the day comes. I cant wait for that. haha
Its tiring but im proud to be one of the Guard of Honour Contingent. If you think national day parade is somewhat boring or whatever, abandon all thoughts and watch this year's biggest 44th birthday parade. Im in it. Thats why. hahahahahaha.
oh and btw, tickets are now avaible. Apply and get it!
